Medraki Literature

The Least You Need to Know is a structured clinical education series developed by Medraki covering 200+ high-yield topics in urgent care and occupational medicine. Each module delivers a focused, evidence-based review of a single clinical topic — organized around the essential elements a clinician must know to evaluate, diagnose, and manage the condition competently at the point of care.

Modules are organized by clinical domain (e.g., HEENT, musculoskeletal, dermatology, occupational health) and are authored by emergency and urgent care physicians with content aligned to current national practice guidelines. Each module uses a consistent structure — including symptom recognition, red flag identification, diagnostic decision-making, treatment protocols, and counseling and follow-up guidance — to support the development of clinical reasoning and practice-based competency.

Learning Objectives

• Identify the key presenting features, symptom patterns, and clinical findings that characterize the topic condition in the urgent care or occupational medicine setting.
• Recognize red flag signs and symptoms that indicate high-risk or time-sensitive conditions requiring escalation, specialist referral, or emergency transfer.
• Select appropriate diagnostic studies based on clinical presentation, pretest probability, and evidence-based criteria — including when testing is not indicated.
• Apply current guideline-concordant treatment protocols, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, tailored to the acuity and context of the urgent care encounter.
• Counsel patients on expected clinical course, return precautions, activity modifications, and follow-up requirements to support safe and effective care transitions.
